Brief Bio of Norman Vincent Peale

Norman Vincent Peale (May 31, 1898 – December 24, 1993) was an American minister, author, and motivational speaker. He was born in Bowersville, Ohio and raised in Ohio and Indiana. After graduating from Ohio Wesleyan University and Boston University School of Theology, he became a pastor at a Methodist church in Brooklyn, New York.

In 1932, Peale and his wife Ruth started the Marble Collegiate Church in Manhattan, where he served as the senior pastor for 52 years. He gained national recognition for his sermons and became a well-known public speaker and author.

Peale's most famous book, "The Power of Positive Thinking," was published in 1952 and has sold over 5 million copies worldwide. The book promotes the idea that positive thinking can lead to success and happiness. Peale believed that a positive attitude could overcome any obstacle and that one's thoughts could influence their health and well-being.

Peale also co-founded Guideposts magazine, which is still published today and has a circulation of over 2 million. He was a recipient of the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 1984 and was inducted into the National Speakers Association Hall of Fame in 1985.

Norman Vincent Peale passed away in 1993 at the age of 95. His teachings continue to inspire and influence millions of people around the world.
