Norman Vincent Peale (May 31, 1898 – December 24, 1993) was an American minister, author, and motivational speaker. He was born in Bowersville, Ohio and raised in Ohio and Indiana. After graduating from Ohio Wesleyan University and Boston University School of Theology, he became a pastor at a Methodist church in Brooklyn, New York.
In 1932, Peale and his wife Ruth started the Marble Collegiate Church in Manhattan, where he served as the senior pastor for 52 years. He gained national recognition for his sermons and became a well-known public speaker and author.
Peale's most famous book, "The Power of Positive Thinking," was published in 1952 and has sold over 5 million copies worldwide. The book promotes the idea that positive thinking can lead to success and happiness.
